Privacy Policy

Effective 2026-09-16

Balso is designed to analyze your photo library on your device. Your photos and videos are not uploaded to Balso-operated servers. Balso has no account system, advertising, or analytics.

Photo library access

Balso asks for access through Apple's Photos APIs because it needs to inspect your library to measure storage and identify possible cleanup candidates. This is local access on your device. It is not collection or transmission of your photo library by Balso.

You control photo-library permission in iOS Settings and can change it there.

Data Balso does not collect

Balso does not collect personal data. Balso does not upload your photos or videos, create an account or profile, use advertising, or run analytics.

The public Balso website likewise uses no analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or non-essential cookies.

On-device processing

Library analysis and comparison happen locally on your device. Balso uses information available through Apple's Photos APIs to calculate sizes, counts, and possible cleanup groups. The resulting review is shown to you in the app.

Deletion and recovery

Balso identifies possible cleanup candidates, but nothing is preselected. Deletion begins only after you explicitly choose items, review the selection, and confirm through Apple's system interface.

Apple's Photos behavior still applies. Where the Recently Deleted feature applies, deleted items may remain recoverable there for the period Apple provides. Balso does not promise immediate or permanent erasure.

Purchases

Balso Pro is offered through Apple's App Store and StoreKit infrastructure. Apple processes your payment information; Balso does not receive your payment-card details. StoreKit provides the app with limited transaction and entitlement information needed to recognize and restore your purchase.

Third-party services and network behavior

Balso does not include third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or Balso-operated backend services. Balso does not transmit your photo library to a Balso-controlled server.

Apple-controlled services—including the App Store, StoreKit, iCloud, and Photos—may use a network connection as part of the operating system and your Apple account. Those services are governed by Apple's terms and privacy practices.

If this policy changes, the revised text will appear on this page and the effective date above will be updated.
